Description
The bodies, of elegant elongated form with flared necks and pronounced shoulders, are richly decorated with a continuous ornamental design composed of flowering vines, vegetal motifs, and decorative borders executed in finely inlaid iridescent mother-of-pearl tesserae. The central sections of the vases feature large figurative reserves depicting scenes of traditional Chinese life: architectural landscapes with pavilions, figures in period attire, and lakeside views animated by boats, all rendered through meticulous mother-of-pearl inlay work. The gilt-metal mounts were supplied by Valerian Rybar & Daigre.
