Description

The upper section is enclosed by a central door, framed by sober yet well-defined moulding. On either side of the door are two fully carved anthropomorphic caryatids, distinguished by strong plasticity and vigorous anatomical modelling. These caryatids serve both structural and decorative functions, visually linking the door to the imposing projecting cornice, richly moulded, which crowns the entire structure. The lower section features two doors with flat, framed panels, lending solidity and severity to the overall composition. Flanking the doors are sculptural elements similar to those above: carved anthropomorphic figures, while the upper part of the lateral pilasters incorporates cherub heads, recurring motifs in Baroque decoration that introduce a note of grace and movement to the architectural severity of the piece. The whole rests on a robust moulded base, which enhances the verticality and monumentality of the cabinet.
