Description
A George IV set of six silver gilt salts, Solomon Hougham, London, 1811
Each salt features an oval body with a shaped rim, finely decorated with a floral and foliate motif. Each piece rests on four smooth spherical feet, providing both stability and elegance. A noble coat of arms is engraved on the sides of the salts. Vermeil, a technique involving the gilding of solid silver, was highly prized on Georgian aristocratic tables for combining the preciousness of gold with the workability of silver.

Slight signs of age and superficial scratches. The five hallmarks are present on the base of the salts.
