A William IV sterling silver teapot, Paul Storr for Storr & Mortimer, London, 1834?
An oval shaped sterling silver tureen with a bombe body, articulated by subtle vertical gadrooning that enhances its sculptural volume. The rim is richly cast and chased with acanthus leaves, scrolling foliage, and shell motifs, continuing seamlessly onto the domed cover. The cover is surmounted by an openwork ring finial, modelled with opposing scrolls and foliate ornament, set on a finely chased shell and acanthus base. The smooth, mirror polished surface of the body is further enriched by an engraved coat of arms within a rocaille cartouche.

Slight signs of age and superficial scratches. The four hallmarks are struck on the base, on the cover, and on the handle of the tureen.
