Alcune decorazioni di nobili sale ed altri ornamenti di Giocondo Albertolli professore della reale Accademia delle Belle Arti in Milano. Incisi da Giacomo Mercoli e da Andrea de Bernardis. 1787.

Hardboard binding with marbled boards. Folio (24,06x17,09in), (3) engraved text plates (frontispiece, dedication, text leaf), 24 engravings on (22) plates. Giocondo Albertolli was an important Italian architect, decorator, and teacher, belonging to a distinguished family of artists. His first commission in 1765 was the decoration of Santa Brigida in Parma, followed in 1768 by the design of a triumphal arch after a drawing by Ennemond-Alexandre Petitot for the wedding celebrations of Ferdinand, Duke of Parma, and Maria Amalia of Austria. From 1770 to 1775 Albertolli created the stuccowork in the Gran Salone of the villa of Poggio Imperiale, near Florence, for Leopold, Grand Duke of Tuscany. In 1773, Giuseppe Piermarini, imperial and royal architect in Milan, invited him to decorate the Palazzo Reale, while at the same time Gaspare Maria Paoletti commissioned him to decorate the ceilings of the Sala degli Stucchi and the Palazzina della Meridiana in the Palazzo Pitti, Florence.

Losses at the foot, upper part, and centre of the spine. Inner front hinge detached. Plates slightly browned. Some spotting.
