Fifteen volumes, 26 cm, approx. 8,000 pages in total. With a portrait of the author and 202 copper-engraved plates, finely hand-colored. Contemporary half-leather binding with small corner tips; smooth spines with titles in gilt. Overall authentic and well preserved, with each plate protected by its original tissue guard. Uncommon to find complete as in the present copy. The fifteenth volume is titled: Life and Times of Buffon.
