Two volumes, 23 cm, pp. xxxii, 382 (2); (4), xix, 410 (2). With a total of 26 etched plates on separate leaves. Contemporary half-leather binding with cornerpieces, spines with raised bands and gilt titles. Marbled endpapers and top edges gilt. A wide-margined copy in excellent condition, printed on heavy paper. The attractive original illustrated wrappers, featuring an oval portrait of Poe, are also preserved. Celebrated edition with the translation by Charles Baudelaire. A collector’s copy. Cf. Vicaire 735–736; 550 (N546).
