Sabellico Marco Antonio (1436-1506). Le historie vinitiane di Marco Antonio Sabellico, divise in tre Deche con tre Libri della quarta Deca. Novamente ricorrette & in diverse parti accresciute di molte cose, che nell'esemplare Latino mancavano e con nuova tavola di tutto quelle che vi si contiene non più ne Latina né volgar stampata, In Vinegia per Comin da Trio, l'anno 1554.

16th century limp vellum binding, with manuscript title on both spine and front cover. The title appears within a woodcut border; the text features woodcut initials and a large full-page woodcut illustration depicting Justice.
First vernacular edition of the history of Venice, originally published in Latin in 1487 and organized into decades, recounting the story of the city from its foundation to the end of the 15th century, following the model of Tito Livio. The author, among the leading Venetian historians of the humanist age, also served as librarian of the collection of Greek manuscripts preserved in the Palazzo Ducale, assembled in part from the bequest of Cardinal Bessarione and in part from manuscripts acquired during the Sack of Constantinople (1204).

Marginal stains, small tears, and occasional foxing. Minor losses and worming to the front cover, title page, plates 1–4 and 244, and the rear cover. A genuine copy of the first vernacular edition of the history of Venice.
